The Prime Minister inspects the development work of the Al-Lissan area and the tourist promenade in Ras El-Bar

   Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inspected the project to develop the sea and Gulf Corniche and coordinate the sites of the tourist walkway in the El-Lissan area in Ras El-Bar city, Damietta Governorate, today, Saturday, accompanied by: Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Dr. Assem Al-Gazzar, Minister of Local Development, Hisham Amna, and Damietta Governor, Dr. Manal Awad, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Contractors Company, Engineer Ahmed Al-Assar.

 

During his tour of the project, the Governor of Damietta, Dr. Manal Awad, gave an explanation about the project to develop the Al-Lissan area and the tourist promenade in Ras City. Al-Barr, noting that the project achieves comprehensive development of this important tourist spot in the city of Ras El-Bar, explaining that the development work includes strengthening the northern submersible breakwater in the Gulf region and constructing a sea barrier with a length of 420 linear meters, and a sea wall with a length of 420 linear meters along the Corniche, in order to protect the beach.

She added that the project includes the construction of the main food court with a total area of ​​5,200 square meters, which is " A courtyard made of granite formations with an area of ​​2,000 square metres, and the rest of the area is green areas and trees, in addition to the construction of an upper courtyard with “rambats” attached to it. For people of determination, the main staircase and the restaurant building are on an area of ​​​​two hundred metres. 

She continued: The project also includes an outdoor courtyard as well as the construction of a theater with a capacity of 750 people overlooking the main corniche, which is located on an area of ​​7 thousand square meters and includes green spaces. And the establishment of complete facilities and decorative benches, in addition to a 700-meter-long bicycle path extending around all the Corniche squares.

The Governor of Damietta indicated that the project includes the construction of canopies and decorative furnishings, an irrigation network, agricultural works, green spaces, and nutrition networks. Drainage, rain drainage networks, parking areas and “mobile food trucks”. In turn, Engineer Reem Abdel Latif, Director of Projects in Damietta Governorate, said that the project includes rehabilitating dirt streets with interlocking tiles, as well as constructing the main irrigation tank to irrigate green areas. She added that Damietta Governorate was working on developing a plan to develop the area, especially after the old walkway had collapsed and reached a state of immediate danger, noting that when developing the development plan, comprehensive studies were prepared for the project to keep pace with the region’s unique location and achieve optimal exploitation of its direct location on the beach. Which contributes to achieving a new boom in this important tourist city, which enjoys an important position at the local and international levels and is witnessing a noticeable frequency by tourist groups from various regions, especially after the opening of the “Steigenberger, El-Lissan” hotel, which is the first 5-star hotel in the Delta region and is distinguished by its location near… From the point where the Nile River meets the Mediterranean Sea.
