Today, Sunday, is the ninth anniversary of the death of the great poet Abd al-Rahman al-Abnoudi, who passed away on this day, April 21, 2015.

 

The great poet Abd al-Rahman al-Abnoudi was born in the month of "Uncle" On April 11, 1938 in the village of Abnoud in Qena Governorate in Upper Egypt, and one of his most famous works is the biography of the Crescent, which he collected from the poets of Upper Egypt but did not compose. 

 

And among his most famous books is the book " “My sweet days” Which he published in separate episodes in the “Our Sweet Days” supplement in Al-Ahram newspaper, collected in this book with its three parts. Abdul Rahman Al-Abnoudi appeared in a period when the literary scene witnessed the presence of a large number of Egyptian colloquial poets, led by Salah Jaheen, Fouad Haddad, Ahmed Fouad Najm and others.

 

His most famous songs: I swear by its sky, by its dust, and by the day.

Abdul Rahman al-Abnoudi wrote many songs that became firmly established in the minds of the public, as they memorized them, repeated them, and sang them again. The most prominent of them were the brown nightingale, Abdel Halim Hafez, and the artist Mohamed Rushdi. .

 

Among his most famous songs are: I Swear by the Sky and by the Dust, Ada Al-Nahar, Arabawi, Adawiya, Of course Ahbab, and Ayoun Al-Qalb.

The Nightingale, Abdel Halim Hafez, sang more than 15 songs, including: “Except for the day, the Messiah, I swear by its sky and its dust, your son says to you, hero, all I say is repentance, hugs of loved ones, strike, strike, warning, by blood.” “, Volcano of Anger, Banner of the Arabs, Lighthouse, O Our Country, Do Not Sleep, Good Morning, O Sina, and others”, and the late artist Mohamed Rushdi 4 songs: “Under the Tree, O Wahiba, Adawiya, Expand the Light, Arabawi”, and Fayza Ahmed 3 songs, They are: “Yumma, my hobbies, yumma, money on money, sit with me”, and Najat two songs: “Eyes of the Heart, Beautiful Love Stories”, and Shadia 3 songs: “Oh, my brown color, say goodbye”, songs from the movie A Thing of Fear And morning song, hours, hours, and Warda Al-Jazairia: " Of course, Ahbab, Before Today,” and Mohamed Qandil’s “Windows on the Nile, Aniki.” As for Magda Al-Roumi, she sang from Al-Abnoudi’s words: “I’m coming from Beirut, I love you, Egypt.”

He also wrote songs for many soap operas; Such as "Al-Nadim, Mountain Wolves" And others, he wrote the dialogue and songs for the movie “Something of Fear”, the dialogue for the movie “The Collar and the Bracelet”, and he wrote the songs for the movie “The Innocent”. He played his role in the series “The Nightingale, The Story of a People” by the artist Mahmoud Al-Bazawi, and Dr. Yahya Azmy participated in writing the script and dialogue for the movie “The Collar and the Bracelet”. ; Based on a short story by the writer Yahya Al-Taher Abdullah.

 

The first collection of poetry that Al-Abnoudi wrote was the collection “The Land and the Children,” the first edition of which was published in 1964. In 1967, it was published His second collection of poems, “The Crowd,” was followed by a collection of poems, “Amaliyat.” 1968 and “The Cat’s Foresters’ Answers.” During the seventies, Al-Abnoudi continued his poetic creativity, writing several collections of poetry, including the following: "The Seasons" 1970, and “Me and the People” In 1973, and the collection “After Greetings and Peace” And "the bell fell silent" 1975, and the “Forbidden Project” In 1979 and others. 

 

In the 1980s, Al-Abnoudi achieved his most famous achievements when he was able to publish the Hilal Biography in five parts, in which he collected the poems of the poets of Upper Egypt and their stories about Bani Hilal.  

After that, Al-Abnoudi published his collection of poems, “Arab Colonialism.” In 1991, and the first part of his poetry anthology in 1994, Al-Abnoudi won the Nile Prize in 2010 and the State Appreciation Award in 2001, and Al-Abnoudi won the Mahmoud Darwish Award for Arab Creativity in 2014. He was married to broadcaster Nihal Kamal.
