The A13 motorway will not reopen to traffic before May 1

In Île-de-France, the A 13 motorway, closed since April 18 after the detection of cracks, will not reopen before May 1, franceinfo learned, Monday April 22, from the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture. The A13 is therefore closed in both directions of traffic between Paris and Vaucresson in Hauts-de-Seine.

The prefecture specifies “that the cracking of the roadway and the hydraulic structure located under the highway is the consequence of a movement of the retaining wall”. Moreover, “Continuous monitoring measures will be taken to monitor the movements of the wall as well as the evolution of cracks, particularly with regard to the hydraulic structure”.

If the conclusions of the surveillance implemented “confirm stabilization of the ground, the first work to repair the roadway and protect the hydraulic structure could be undertaken by the end of the week. Under these conditions and subject to this reservation, the reopening of the A13 at traffic could occur from Wednesday May 1st”details the prefecture.

The prefecture indicates in its press release that 5 companies were mobilized this weekend to “continue investigations around the crack, carry out work to seal the cracks on the roadway to prevent water infiltration”. In parallel, “backfilling work has already been carried out and reinforced monitoring of the structure has been put in place”. The authorities invite “users to follow the proposed diversion routes”.

With the closure of the A13, the Sytadin site recorded, on Monday April 22, up to 307 km of traffic jams at 8 a.m., above the average in Île-de-France. New information will be communicated on Friday April 26 to confirm the reopening of the A13.
