Abu Dhabi, April 22nd / WAM / The Cybersecurity Council is participating in the activities of the 13th edition of the Gulf Global Information Security Exhibition and Conference “GISEC Global 2024”, the largest gathering in the Middle East for the international cybersecurity community, which begins tomorrow and continues until April 25th at the Center Dubai World Trade Center.

In its special pavilion, the Council reviews many events, activities and initiatives, including the “National Cyber ​​Pulse” initiative, which aims to enhance and raise the level of awareness of good cybersecurity practices for various segments of society in the UAE, through awareness and interactive cyber workshops, including workshops with accredited certificates. In addition to implementing advanced cyber exercises that simulate the best global practices in confronting malicious cyber attacks.

The SANS Institute is hosting a networking session for Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) on the first day of GESEK 2024.

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Government Cybersecurity Council, will deliver the opening keynote, followed by sessions with James Lin, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at the SANS Institute, and Kevin Ripa, Senior Trainer at the SANS Institute, who will highlight best practices for senior security personnel. His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti expressed his strong support for displaying the cyber escape room at the 2024 GESEC exhibition and conference, stressing its importance in enhancing awareness and cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.

Al-Kuwaiti said: “The cyber escape room is in line with our mission to enhance awareness and cooperation in the field of cybersecurity. We believe this can be achieved in partnership with industry experts, and we are happy to partner with EMT Distribution and Dubai World Trade Center for this initiative. The cyber escape room will run from April 23 to 25, and each session lasts 20 minutes and accommodates teams of 8 to 12 players.

He added: “Cybersecurity is a critical issue in our interconnected world today. We in the UAE are fully aware of the importance of protecting our digital assets from advanced threats.”

He stressed that the Cyber ​​Security Council is working to enhance its cyber security capabilities by investing in advanced technology and building human capabilities, stressing the importance and necessity of international cooperation to combat cyber threats.

He explained that the Council is ready to cooperate with partners from all over the world, such as the SANS Institute, to exchange best practices and develop innovative solutions, noting that the new “Artificial Intelligence Security 247” course from the SANS Institute is a distinguished example of the country’s Cybersecurity Council’s commitment to developing force skills. Working in the field of cybersecurity.

He stressed that artificial intelligence has the potential to significantly improve cybersecurity, but it is also important to be aware of the risks associated with it.
