The Prime Minister is discussing ways to encourage the fertilizer industry to expand and increase the volume of its exports

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly affirmed the state’s efforts to support various industrial sectors, in a way that contributes to the localization of many industries and increasing the volume of local production in them, to meet needs and uses, and in a way that is also reflected in the growth in the volume of Egyptian exports to various global markets.

This came during the meeting held by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, today, Monday, to follow up on the position of the fertilizer industry, and ways to encourage this industry to expand and increase the volume of its exports, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, Mr. Al-Quseir, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Engineer Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Finance. The public business sector, Engineer Ahmed Samir Saleh, Minister of Trade and Industry, and officials from a number of ministries and concerned authorities.

Madbouly touched on the comparative advantage enjoyed by the fertilizer industry in Egypt, given the availability of raw materials involved in manufacturing processes. Whether the phosphate ore found in mines in the southern Eastern Sahara, on which the phosphate fertilizer industry is based, or the nitrogen fertilizer industry, which is considered one of the derivatives of petroleum refining.

The Prime Minister confirmed, in this regard, the government’s intention to provide more facilities to encourage To expand this important industry using the latest applied technologies, in order to maximize the promising capabilities we possess in this field, in a way that contributes to increasing the volume of products from this industry, growing the volume of its exports, and opening new export markets, which is reflected in increasing the state’s foreign exchange resources. And providing more new job opportunities for young people.

Councilor Muhammad Al-Homsani, the official spokesman for the Council of Ministers, stated that the meeting reviewed what the Ministry of Finance has done to support and encourage many industrial, productive and agricultural activities, including those related to the industry. Fertilizers.

The meeting also discussed the total production capacities of various types of fertilizers, and it was noted that Egypt ranks sixth in production and export of fertilizers in the world.
