(Based on the directives of my Government, I am writing to you in response to the allegations contained in the statement of the Permanent Representative of Sudan to the United Nations at the 9611th Security Council session dated April 19, 2024 under the agenda item “Reports of the Secretary-General on Sudan and South Sudan.

The United Arab Emirates categorically rejects the allegations made by the Permanent Representative of Sudan, which are baseless and contradict the established fraternal relations between our two countries. Unfortunately, it appears that this is nothing more than an attempt to divert attention from the conflict and the deteriorating humanitarian situation resulting from the continued fighting. .

All allegations regarding the involvement of the United Arab Emirates in any form of aggression or destabilization in Sudan, or its provision of any military, logistical, financial or political support to any faction in Sudan are baseless and lack reliable evidence to support them.

Since the outbreak of the conflict in Sudan, the United Arab Emirates has long expressed its firm belief that there is no military solution to the conflict and we are deeply concerned about the failure of the parties to the conflict to respond to the repeated call for an immediate cessation of hostilities or efforts to find a sustainable solution to the conflict through dialogue, including the call The latest by the Security Council in Resolution 2724 (2024).

Despite numerous calls issued by regional actors and the international community for speedy action, the parties to the conflict have continued to prolong hostilities, which is causing the Sudanese people untold hardship and suffering and threatens to destabilize the entire region.

In this context, the United Arab Emirates also expresses its deep concern about the spread of misleading information and false narratives, which would undermine any efforts aimed at promoting constructive dialogue and ultimately paving the way towards achieving lasting peace.

On behalf of my Government, I would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm the respect and commitment of the United Arab Emirates to upholding the principles of international law, including the principles of the United Nations Charter. The United Arab Emirates also respects the sovereignty of other countries, refrains from any interference in their internal affairs, and is committed to full compliance with Security Council resolutions. In cooperation with the Council and its subsidiary bodies.

Accordingly, the UAE will remain committed to supporting a peaceful solution to the conflict in Sudan, and to this end, the UAE will continue to work with all stakeholders, and support any process aimed at putting Sudan on the political path to reach a lasting settlement, and achieve a national consensus to form a government led by Civilian.

The UAE has actively engaged with parties in Sudan and relevant stakeholders, including the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the African Union, and supported the talks in Jeddah and Manama. It also participated in the “International Humanitarian Conference on Sudan and Neighboring Countries,” which was recently held in Paris joined the Declaration of Principles issued by it to advance peace initiatives for Sudan, and pledged to provide 100 million US dollars in support of humanitarian efforts in Sudan and neighboring countries.

The United Arab Emirates firmly believes that dialogue is the only way to address grievances and pave the way towards sustainable peace in Sudan, and stresses the need for all parties to truly commit to participating in the peace talks in good faith, as all parties in Sudan must focus on constructive engagement and meaningful dialogue rather than From evading responsibility and undermining efforts to resolve the conflict and address the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, the current situation in Sudan requires all parties concerned to demonstrate a genuine commitment to achieving lasting peace and stability in Sudan.

The United Arab Emirates will continue to support all genuine efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in Sudan and will remain committed to cooperating with all stakeholders in order to reach a peaceful solution to the conflict.
