Abu Dhabi, April 23 / WAM / The visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, who is making his first state visit to the Emirates, and the discussions that brought him together with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” topped the attention of local newspapers. Today, which confirmed that the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman are linked by deep-rooted and historical relations, with a special social and cultural fabric, distinguished by close family ties and good neighborliness, and fortified by love and wisdom, noting that the discussions give a strong impetus to bilateral relations, support economic partnership, and highlight the importance of Gulf action. In light of the challenges facing the region, and the importance of strengthening it in a way that achieves mutual interests and contributes to enhancing security and stability, it also stresses the importance of sparing the region from new crises that affect everyone and hinder cooperation and development efforts, through dialogue and diplomatic solutions.

It reflects the level of exemplary relations between the two countries, deepens fraternal ties, serves development priorities, and brings goodness and development to the two brotherly peoples.

For its part, and under the title “Relationships of History and Conscience”, Al-Khaleej newspaper said: “Rooted and deep historical relations link the UAE with its sister Sultanate of Oman, whose Sultan Haitham bin Tariq was a dear guest of his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State. God save him”.

She added that the official visit was met with a warm welcome befitting the relationship between the two countries, and included a special welcome, and a flight of the “Emirates Knights” team in the sky of Qasr Al Watan, forming a painting of the Sultanate’s flag, and Abu Dhabi’s landmarks and streets were decorated with its flags, which is a confirmation of the depth of the ties and the warm welcome to the Sultan.

She pointed out that Mohammed bin Zayed and his distinguished guest witnessed the announcement of a number of memorandums of understanding and agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation and moving it to broader horizons, so that His Highness confirmed that the relations between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman are historical, have a special social and cultural fabric, and are distinguished by close family ties and good neighbourliness. Fortified with love and wisdom, he said: “I am confident that this social bond and cohesion represents a basic foundation for continuing to build exemplary relations that serve the interests of the two countries and achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for progress and prosperity.” Sultan Haitham stressed that the bonds of good neighborliness and common history that bind the two countries call for satisfaction. Al-Khaleej said in conclusion: “A great guest came among his family and brothers, and his visit confirms that the Emirates and Oman are nothing but two sisters whose relations are rooted in history and conscience, woven for decades, with good neighborliness and love, and will remain.”
