NY: Police arrested dozens of people at pro-Palestinian rallies at Yale University in Connecticut and New York University in Manhattan, as the war in Gaza continued to impact American universities.

The police crackdown came after Columbia University canceled in-person classes on Monday (local time) in response to protesters setting up tents on its New York City campus last week, when more arrests were made. .

Protesters blocked traffic around Yale’s campus, demanding that the university divest from military weapons manufacturers. Police arrested more than 45 protesters, according to the student-led report. Yale Daily News.

In New York, officers addressed the crowd at New York University shortly after dark as hundreds of protesters for hours defied the university’s warnings that they would face consequences if they did not leave a plaza where they had gathered. Video on social media showed police tearing down tents at the protesters’ camp.
