Secretary General of the Football Association: "Gold Gulf Games" An important achievement before the Asian qualifiers
Abu Dhabi, April 23 / WAM / Mohammed Abdullah Hazzam Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of the UAE Football Association, confirmed that the crowning of the U-17 junior team yesterday with gold in the first edition of the Gulf Youth Games “UAE 2024” is a major achievement and an important milestone before the next stage, which Includes Asian qualifiers.
Yesterday, our national team won over its Kuwaiti counterpart 2-0 in the third and final round, achieving the sixth point and first place in direct confrontations with the championship teams.
The Secretary-General congratulated the Board of Directors of the UAE Football Association, headed by His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, on the achievement of our national team, stressing that the Board’s support put the team on the right path.
He pointed out that the team’s participation in the first Gulf Games represented a great opportunity to interact with a number of Gulf teams, and a strong motivation before competing in any other competitions in the next stage, explaining that this achievement is a strong start for a rising team, and an incentive for the teams of other stages to achieve positive results.
He added: “The preparation period before participation revealed the extent of the ability of the players, led by the technical staff, to reach maximum readiness at the right time, which is an important factor in the journey of success and excellence.”
