Stuart Attwell WILL referee this weekend as the Premier League stand by the under-fire official after Nottingham Forest furiously questioned his integrity on VAR duty

The Premier League has confirmed that Stuart Attwell will referee Saturday’s match between Fulham and Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage, despite Nottingham Forest furiously questioning his integrity while on VAR duty last weekend.

The City Ground club released a bombshell statement in the wake of their 2-0 defeat by Everton on Sunday claiming that PGMOL were warned about Attwell ‘being a Luton fan’ and suggested that the official had acted favourably towards Everton in an effort to help the Hatters’ bid for Premier League survival.

Only one point separates Forest and Luton with four games to go in the Premier League relegation battle, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side currently holding a slender advantage in 17th.

Forest were outraged not to receive three penalties during the match, with Everton defender Ashley Young at the centre of every claim.

The Midlands club has called for PGMOL to release the audio transcript from VAR discussions between Attwell and on-field referee Anthony Taylor after criticising ‘three extremely poor decisions’ in their explosive statement on Sunday.

Mail Sport exclusively revealed on Tuesday that Forest’s demand is set to be met by the referees’ governing body and that PGMOL chief Howard Webb will discuss one of the three issues on next week’s Referees Mic’d Up programme.

But Attwell will keep his place on the Premier League fixture list as planned on Saturday, as the Premier League confirmed he will be the on-field official for Fulham’s home match with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Attwell will be joined by assistant referees James Mainwaring and Marc Perry, with Michael Salisbury and Neil Davies taking on VAR and assistant VAR duties respectively.
