A Moscow State University student from Odessa was arrested in Moscow after posts in support of Ukraine

In Moscow, Sergei Gulko, a sixth-year student at the Faculty of Fundamental Medicine of Moscow State University from Odessa, was arrested for a total of 46 days after publications in support of Ukraine on his social networks. Gulko is also charged with disobeying the police, reports TASS.

Initially, the police detained the student for not presenting his passport during a document check. For disobedience to the police, the Nikulinsky court sentenced him to 10 days of arrest.

According to RIA Novosti, Gulko lives in a student dormitory on Lomonosovsky Prospekt in Moscow. He has a valid passport of a citizen of Ukraine; he has not submitted an application for Russian citizenship.

When checking Gulko’s social networks, police found two publications with slogans in support of Ukraine. In this regard, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow twice sentenced the student to 12 days of administrative arrest. RIA News” notesthat Gulko was given a notice requiring him to leave Russia within three days.

Gulko did not admit guilt to any episode.

RIA Novosti’s source also reported that the student planned to leave Russia after graduation. He allegedly explained this decision by saying that he felt uncomfortable in the country.
