Dubai Customs seizes 4.28 kilograms of… "Marijuana" With a passenger at the airport

Dubai, April 28 / WAM / Dubai Customs officers succeeded in thwarting an attempt to smuggle 4.25 kilograms of narcotic marijuana, which was distributed in a professional manner inside the car engine filter.

Dubai Customs explained, in a statement today, that an African traveler’s bag coming to the UAE via Dubai International Airport was subjected to a thorough inspection after it was suspected, and it was revealed that there was a filter inside the bag, which necessitated a careful examination of the filter’s components, which revealed the presence of the narcotic marijuana herb inside. The passenger, the arrest report, and the seized materials are handed over to the General Department of Narcotics Control at Dubai Police to take the necessary measures against her.

Khaled Ahmed, Acting Director of the Passenger Operations Department, stressed that protecting society from pests and harmful and prohibited materials is one of the priorities of Dubai Customs and the main tasks of the department. In order to complete this mission to the fullest extent, the department is keen to provide professional competencies supported by a sense of security, accumulated experience, and advanced knowledge of all smuggling methods. Its various forms, and this expertise is enhanced through workshops and training courses on inspection methods and methods for detecting drugs and prohibited materials, in addition to courses in body language techniques, which focus on body language and human behavior, which gives the inspector experience in dealing with smugglers.

He said that this seizure reflects the integration between the various customs units and the speed of their response in catching anyone who tries to smuggle or pass any prohibited or dangerous materials.

Regarding the details of the seizure, Khaled Ahmed said: During the work shift, one of the Dubai Customs officers became suspicious of bags belonging to a flight coming from an African country, so he informed the customs officer at the checkpoint at the exit gate, who stopped the owner of the bag, so that the bags were transferred for manual inspection and the seizure of narcotic drugs.
