"Dubai for the future" Launches the Leadership and Design Program within "Government Design Initiative"
DUBAI, 1st May / WAM / The Dubai Future Foundation announced the launch of the “Leadership and Design Programme”, within the “Government Design Initiative”, with the aim of involving various government agencies and work teams in designing the future of key sectors, according to a methodology whose main focus is based on meeting the needs and aspirations of society. To make Dubai one of the best cities in the world in various fields concerned with the quality of human life.
The “Leadership and Design Programme” will begin next June and continue until October 2024. The program includes a group of workshops, meetings, and events inside and outside the country, with the aim of enhancing communication between participants, introducing them to the most important goals of the program, and training them to employ various government design tools, and design future scenarios. Preparing prototypes for government projects, initiatives and strategies.
His Excellency Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, said: The program aims to empower future leaders of the government sector with the skills and tools of design thinking, generating creative ideas, anticipating future opportunities, developing innovative government services and models and sharing them with partners in the region and around the world in implementation of the leadership’s vision.
Belhoul stressed that the success of government work in the future is mainly based on the presence of national expertise skilled in design thinking skills and the ability to anticipate major transformations before they occur, enhance readiness for their challenges and changes, and develop the ability to absorb their outputs and employ them to serve society.
He pointed out the importance of this program in supporting government agencies in Dubai to benefit from the outcomes of the “Leadership and Design Program” to develop the skills of government employees in the field of future design, encourage them to adopt creative thinking, and empower government leaders with skills and tools to design future strategies that adopt innovative concepts for the future of government work.
The most prominent objectives of the Leadership and Design Program are to establish a culture of creative design and proactive planning in government agencies, and to empower national talents with the skills of innovation, anticipating the future and design thinking, which contributes to developing, launching and implementing qualitative future services, initiatives and projects that enhance the readiness of Dubai and the UAE for the future.
The program was developed in cooperation with many government agencies in the UAE, knowledge centers, and research and academic institutions around the world with the aim of adopting the latest international practices and successful experiences in developing government work.
Preparing national expertise is reflected in the performance of government agencies in the field of government design and enhancing the effectiveness of their initiatives and programs based on creative leadership and integrated future planning, in addition to sharing the knowledge acquired by government design experts with their colleagues to develop new projects that enhance the contribution of their institutions in the process of designing the future of Dubai and the UAE.
It is worth noting that the UAE government launched the Government Design Initiative in 2019, to enhance the design culture in developing and launching human-centered initiatives, policies, and programs and activating the role of social and economic design, in order to achieve the goals of the “UAE Centennial 2071.”
