The death toll due to heavy rains in southern Brazil has risen to 29 people

The Brazilian Civil Defense Agency announced that the death toll had risen as a result of heavy rains in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. located in the south of the country, to 29 people, in addition to 60 others who are still missing.

 

The ABC network reported: The American newspaper reported on Friday that Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva He went to the state to meet with the local authorities there, expressing his solidarity with them. 

 

Lula da Silva said – in a post on the X platform – that his government will do its utmost to Meeting the needs of those affected by these rains.

 

The Civil Defense Agency added that the rains caused electricity and water outages throughout the state, the occurrence of floods and landslides, and a rise in water levels in rivers, in addition to… Part of a dam building to generate hydroelectric power collapsed, noting that more than 10,000 people fled their homes.
