Head of a Tunisian parliamentary bloc: Relations between Egypt and Tunisia have witnessed great development

The head of the Liberal Bloc in the Tunisian People’s Assembly, Saber Al-Masmoudi, praised the great development in Egyptian-Tunisian relations, especially after President Kais Saied’s visit to Egypt in April 2021.

Al-Masmoudi said – in a special statement to the Middle East News Agency /SHA/ – that cooperation between the two countries is witnessing continuous growth, and there is a close relationship between Presidents Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Kais Saied.

 

He added that the relations between the two peoples are close and dominated by love, noting that he touched on this matter during his visit to Egypt, expressing his hope to achieve more cooperation between the two countries.

 

He praised the political climate in Egypt and Tunisia, which are making steady progress and establishing a strong democratic system that economically and socially advances the peoples of both countries, with the aim of providing the best conditions for their people.

He continued that there are many areas of cooperation between Egypt and Tunisia, including mutual business investments, and the relationship is heading to be stronger and more comprehensive, noting that during the meeting of Tunisian members in the Arab Parliament and Arab Councils and Parliaments Conference on Artificial Intelligence with… The Tunisian ambassador to Egypt pointed out the great development in Egyptian-Tunisian relations.

 

He added that every Arab country seeks to support the Palestinian cause as much as it can and the cause The Palestinian Authority is strongly present in all aspects of joint Arab action, including Arab parliamentary meetings and the Arab Parliament, stressing the necessity of strengthening Arab support for the struggle of the Palestinian people to reach their goal of establishing an independent state.

He praised the results of the Sixth Conference of Parliament. The Arab League and the heads of Arab councils and parliaments held a recent meeting in Cairo and approved the document “An Arab Parliamentary Vision for Achieving the Safe Employment of Artificial Intelligence,” stressing the importance of establishing Arab guiding laws in this regard, and discussing the risks and challenges of artificial intelligence.

He stated that the conference discussed the establishment of an Arab observatory to warn of the dangers of artificial intelligence, as well as the issue of the cultural and religious specificities of Arab society and taking them into account, as well as the issue of localizing artificial intelligence.

 

He went on to say: " We in Tunisia support joint Arab cooperation in all fields, and we give great attention to the topic of artificial intelligence at the same time, hence the interest of the Tunisian delegation in the outcomes of the conference.
