In Brussels, 140 factories from 25 EU countries are discussing cooperation with Kiev

Representatives of EU institutions, governments, the European and Ukrainian defense industry, industry associations, key partner countries and organizations gathered at a forum in Brussels to strengthen defense industrial cooperation between the EU and Ukraine, reports Euronews.

The meeting, which discusses strengthening cooperation and increasing ammunition production in the EU and Ukraine, is hosted by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.

“Of course, Ukraine is a country at war and Russia is targeting industrial capacity, capacity that we must provide, capacity for defense and capacity to increase production,” Borrell said at the start of the forum. “We need to integrate Ukrainian defense capabilities from an industrial point of view with ours. Specifically, this means, in particular, promoting joint procurement between the European and Ukrainian defense industries,” Borrell said.

“Our goal is to find additional funding for purchases from the Ukrainian defense industry for the Ukrainian armed forces. This is the fastest way we can help the front,” said Alexander Kamyshin, Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine.

More than 140 defense industry enterprises from 25 EU member countries take part in the forum.
