Russia no longer uses the Crimean Bridge to supply troops

After repeated attacks on the Crimean Bridge, Russia no longer uses it to supply troops in Ukraine. About it writes The Independent.

Satellite images analyzed and provided by the data agency Molfar show that over the past three months there have not been a single train with military equipment on the Crimean Bridge. During this time, only one train with 55 wagons of fuel passed across the bridge, which was noticed on February 29.

Russia has significantly reduced its use of the Crimean Bridge since its last major attack in July 2023. Previously, according to the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasily Malyuk, more than 40 trains with weapons passed over the bridge every day. Now, he claims, four passenger and one freight trains run along it per day.

Now, instead of a bridge, Russia is using new railway lines through the occupied territories of Ukraine to supply troops, Molfar data shows. The head of the agency, Artem Starosek, suggested that it would be more profitable for Ukraine to target these land routes and not waste resources on the Crimean Bridge.

Last week, Ukraine’s permanent representative to the UN Sergei Kislitsa published a picture with “the main types of bridges for 2024” without the Crimean bridge. Earlier, Western media, citing sources in the Ukrainian special services, wrote that a new attack on the Crimean Bridge was being prepared in the first half of 2024.
