The institutions and leading figures who won the first session of the Arab Digital Economy Award, in the presence of a crowd of leaders and officials from government and private institutions and the media.

The honorees were chosen according to their record of achievements in implementing strategic national visions, their achievement of tangible achievements in their sectors, and the extent to which they were able to join the race for excellence and face the basic challenges to build a system of transformation and innovation that leads the future in accordance with best institutional practices.
The Arab Award for the Digital Economy, which was announced in 2022 as one of the initiatives of the Arab Vision for the Digital Economy that was adopted at the Arab Leaders Summit in Algeria in 2022, focuses on several main areas, including digital payments, financial technology (Fintech), digital currencies, and intelligence. Artificial intelligence, blockchain, e-commerce, digital banks, and technological solutions with financial and economic impact.

The list of entities and institutions honored this year included the leadership category, and His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi – Minister of State for Foreign Trade was honored in this category along with His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama – Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence The digital economy and remote work applications.

In the private companies category, Khazna Tech Financial Technology Company – Arab Republic of Egypt was honored. The award was received by Omar Saleh, founder and CEO of Khazna Company and Biban Company – Kingdom of Bahrain, and Fajr Saleh Ahmed Al-Bajji, General Manager of Biban Company, received the award.
It is noteworthy that the Arab Federation for the Digital Economy, since its establishment, has contributed to supporting the development of the digital economy in the Arab world. It focuses on enhancing knowledge, infrastructure, regulatory frameworks and technical standards to promote digital inclusion and sustainable development across the Arab region. The main mission of the Union is to mobilize Arab and international capabilities to positively influence Arab societies and raise the standards, quality and quality of life in the region, as well as consolidating the foundations of excellence and competitiveness in institutions and their leaders, from a wide range of initiatives, studies and reports that it publishes to build and consolidate digital culture, excellence and innovation, in All government and business sectors.

His Excellency Dr. Ali Muhammad Al-Khoury, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity and President of the Arab Federation for the Digital Economy, stressed in a speech at the summit…the importance of digitization as a fundamental driver of economic transformation and sustainable development in the Arab countries, pointing to the importance of economic integration between Arab capitals and enhancing digital flexibility to adapt to changes and confront them. Al-Khoury praised the progress achieved by Arab digital initiatives, especially in the GCC countries, noting the importance of the “Arab Vision for the Digital Economy” that was adopted at the Algiers Summit 2022, which included 50 initiatives to strengthen the Arab digital economy. He added that these initiatives constitute the backbone of the digital environmental framework, and primarily aim to enhance the flexibility of Arab markets and drive digital transformation in light of the rapid technological and economic transformations.
The President of the Arab Federation for the Digital Economy pointed to the recent version of the Arab Digital Economy Index for 2024, which highlights the progress made in adopting digital strategies across Arab countries, and that it reflects the necessity of integrating national plans and aligning them with the broader economic and social goals of the region.

He touched on the Arab digital future, stressing the importance of the Arab region paying greater attention to digital technology, and that this requires placing the Arab workforce at the forefront of national strategic plans.
