Kerkennah Province qualifies for the 8th round of the Tunisian Football Cup after defeating Esperance
Today, Wednesday, the Tunisian team of Muhit Kerkennah Club was able to defeat Esperance Athletic Club by two goals to one, in the match that brought them together in the round of 16 of the Tunisian Cup at the Taieb Mhiri Stadium in the city of Sfax. So that the Kerkennah Ocean Club could take a step towards the Tunisian Cup title at the expense of Esperance.
The Kerkennah Ocean Club scored the lead goal in the 69th minute of the match, through the player Jaafar Moussa. So Esperance was able to score an equalizer through the feet of Yassine Meriah from a penalty kick in the 89th minute; Referee Haitham Al-Qasa’i announced that the match’s regular time had ended in a positive draw. The match was completed in extra time, with player Mohamed Amin Zitouni scoring the goal to advance the Kerkennah Ocean Club in the 112th minute. The match ended with the team’s victory over its counterpart, Esperance, and qualified for the 8th round of the tournament and facing the Mostaqbal Marsa team.

The events of the match also witnessed the expulsion of: Esperance player Aman Allah Al-Farikhi in the 57th minute, and Hani Amamou in the 65th minute; Esperance completed the match with 9 players.
