Launch of the National Competition for Young Innovators

The activities of the National Competition for Young Innovators have been launched, which comes in implementation of the cooperation protocol signed between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by (the Fund for Welfare of Innovators and Geniuses) and the Ministry of Education and Technical Education. With the aim of discovering and qualifying innovative and brilliant students in the fields of science and technology at the pre-university education stage.

Dr. Dhia Khalil, Executive Director of the Fund for the Care of Innovators and Geniuses, stressed the importance of the National Competition for Young Innovators in discovering And developing the talents of innovative students in the fields of science and technology, noting that this competition is held within the “Innovation Club” program. iClub, at the level of 27 educational directorates throughout the Republic, and the competition includes all students in public, private, and international schools, STEM schools, Nile schools, and their educational departments, explaining that through this competition we aim to provide a suitable environment for young people and innovative students to present their ideas and projects, Supporting future pioneers in Egypt; In implementation of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, which is in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Diaa Khalil said that the competition aims to discover the creative talents of students from various educational levels, develop innovative thinking and entrepreneurship skills among young people, enable them to transform their innovative ideas into realistic, applicable projects, instill a culture of innovation among students, and introduce students to the concepts of intellectual property and its importance in protecting Their innovations, providing the necessary support and guidance to innovators through an elite group of specialized experts, embracing and supporting teams that include innovative students, selecting the most distinguished students through a final competition held at the conclusion of the program, and honoring the best innovators, which contributes to spreading the culture of excellence and innovation.

The Executive Director of the Innovators and Geniuses Fund indicated that applications for the competition are open until next June 6, pointing out the conditions that must be met to join the competition, including that all team members must be Egyptian students, and that Students must be officially enrolled in an Egyptian school in the middle or high school stage (except for the final year of high school), and the team must consist of 2 to 4 students, in addition to the approval of the school administration for the students’ participation in the competition.

The competition is held in five main fields: first: energy, which includes (physical energy, chemical energy), second: environment, which includes (environmental engineering, environment and earth sciences), third: robots and smart machines, &nbsp Fourth: Software systems, which include (software engineering, embedded systems), and Fifth: Artificial intelligence. Each team that qualifies for the guidance and guidance stage of the competition will receive financial support worth 10,000 Egyptian pounds. This support aims to help the teams finance their projects and develop their ideas. Creativity.

Projects will also be evaluated in the final stage of the competition based on a set of criteria, including: (the appropriateness of the title of the innovation and its connection to the idea, the clarity of the basic problem that the innovation addresses, and creativity Excellence in presenting the idea and its potential for development, clarity of the steps for implementing the innovation idea, quality of the proposed idea, distinction of the innovation from currently existing innovations, identification of difficulties during the period of implementation of the innovation, clarity of the applicability of the innovation on the ground, suitability of the proposed solutions to solve those difficulties, and the clarity of the images or… The drawings contained in the innovation and the clarity of their description, the clarity of the party benefiting from the innovation, the clarity of the innovation’s prototype, displaying the competitions in which the team previously participated with its innovation, whether internationally or locally, displaying the positions the team obtained during its participation in international or local competitions, and the clarity of the sustainability plan. The value of the competition prizes reaches 500,000 Egyptian pounds, and the prizes are distributed as follows: (first place 50 thousand Egyptian pounds, second place 30 thousand Egyptian pounds, and first place The third is 20 thousand Egyptian pounds.
