The death toll from floods in Brazil has risen to 95

Brasilia, 8 May / WAM / The death toll from landslides and floods taking place in Brazil has risen to 95 people, while dozens of people are still missing, amid expectations that heavy rains will continue to fall on the country.
According to local media, the floods caused a blackout of electricity and clean water for several days for tens of thousands of people in the city of Porto Alegre, the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, southeastern Brazil, and its surrounding areas.
Heavy rains caused damage to more than 200 areas in Rio Grande do Sul and destroyed many roads and dams.
