The representative of Al-Azhar calls for unity in confronting the sweeping current that seeks to destroy religious identity and values

Dr. Muhammad Al-Duwaini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, confirmed that the third edition of the Al-Azhar Observatory Forum for Combating Extremism, entitled “Listen and Speak” It represents a new episode in a connected series, the first edition of which began in May 2018, and the importance of this forum is emphasized in a world charged with intellectual clashes, severe polarization, and desperate attempts to destroy countries and peoples using various methods, targeting the nation’s core material, which is the youth, and seeking to… Cut the youth About their faith, their history, and their identity.

The Undersecretary of Al-Azhar added, today, Wednesday, during his speech at the forum held at the Al-Azhar Convention Center, that if every nation has wealth that it is proud of, and a balance that it saves, For its future and a strength on which to build its glory and renaissance, at the forefront of this wealth is the youth, who are considered the mainstay in society, the real living wealth in it, and the hope that is always hoped for. One of the manifestations of civilization and sophistication among nations is that they take care of the youth and prepare for them what will make them strong, competent men, on whose hands the nation can be established.

His Eminence said that the title of the forum alerts everyone to a life skill that is about to be lost from the lives of people of all degrees. And their levels, which is the skill of speaking and listening; Our Al-Azhar sciences tell us that speech is the useful expression, according to the expression of Jamal al-Din Ibn Malik in his saying: Our speech is a useful expression, such as “staqam”, a noun, a verb, and then the letter of the word.

The representative of Al-Azhar pointed out that speech is not merely the movement of the tongue in the mouth human, So what is the majority of speakers? Rather, the speech we mean is according to what Al-Hasan Al-Basri, may God Almighty have mercy on him, said: “The tongue of the wise man comes from behind his heart, so when he wants to speak, he thinks, and if he has it, he says it, even if it is.” He will hold on to it, and the heart of the ignorant will be behind his tongue. If he intends “With words, he spoke for him and against him,” and this is the meaning that Al-Akhtal summed up in his saying: “Speech is only in the heart, but * the tongue has been made a guide to the heart.” His Eminence continued, “Behind the speech is a watchful heart and jealous tongues.” F, or so it should be, and beyond Speech is a mind that is aware of the meanings and goals of speech, or so it should be, and with speech there is an awareness of the time and place of speech, or so it should be. If any speaker observed such controls before launching his tongue into what he knows and what he does not know, and what is beneficial and what is not beneficial, he would abandon… A lot of talking, and to spare our societies and our youth from the scourge of intellectual and moral deviation.

His Eminence explained that listening also has its own etiquette, which, along with the etiquette of speech, produces a positive and uplifting dialogue, and the title of our meeting today is “Listen and Speak.” And not “speak and listen” The basic principle is that you listen first, learn first, understand first, then speak, and the speech comes based on a solid pillar of knowledge, understanding, wisdom, and etiquette.

The representative of Al-Azhar cited an incident from the Prophet’s biography, one thousand and four hundred years ago, on the day that Utbah ibn Utbah rose up. Rabi’ah among his companions who prevent people from calling the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and they do everything they can to do so. So he said to them: O people of Quraysh, should I not go to Muhammad and speak to him and present matters to him, perhaps he will accept some of them, so we can give him whichever he wants, and he will refrain from us? They said: Yes, Abu Al-Walid, go to him and speak to him. Utbah stood up to him until he sat next to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: O my nephew, you are one of us, as you have learned of authority in the clan and position in lineage, and that you have come to your people with a command to preach A yam with which their group was divided, their dreams made fools of it, their gods and their religion were maligned with it, and with it it disbelieved those of their fathers who passed away. So listen to me, and I will present to you some matters that you may consider, perhaps you will accept some of them. Then the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said to him: “Say, O Abu Al-Walid, I listen.” He said: O my nephew, if you want money with what you have brought in this matter, we will collect for you from our money until you die Be the one who has the most wealth, and if you want honor with it, we will give you dominance over us, until We will not make any decision without you, and if you want a kingdom for it, we will make you king over us, and if this is what comes to you as a vision that you see and you are not able to turn it away for yourself, they requested Medicine is for you, and we will spend our money on it until we clear you of it, even when the threshold is empty. And the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him: Yes, he said: &laquo “So listen to me.” He said: I will. So he recited to him from Surah “Fussilat”, and as for Utbah, he listened to her, and placed his hands behind his back, relying on them to listen to him. Then the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, ended up prostrating from it, and he prostrated and then said: You have heard, O Abu Al-Walid, what you have heard, and so are you.

The representative of Al-Azhar confirmed that this incident shows the moral highness, beauty of behavior, purity of heart, and call to God that it contains. With wisdom and good exhortation, we stop with these phrases: “Have you finished, Abu Al-Walid?”, “Then listen to me,” and finally he said to him: “You have heard, O Abu Al-Walid, what you heard, so you and that.” What kind of language describes this beauty and majesty?!

His Eminence spoke about what this incident contained in the art of listening, which is an art that many young people are not good at, and many wise people are not patient with, and if some people are good at it, they are not good at it. They improve it as an art, for listening is literature and an art at the same time, pointing out that Utbah spoke and presented accusations in the context of what he considered to be a good opportunity for the one who made the call, and he gathered all his arguments and proofs, and presented in his presentation an exaggerated reality, in an attempt to falsify and persuade.

< p>His Eminence followed the position of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, regarding what Utbah said. He, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, received all of this with attentiveness, listening, attention, and interest, and this politeness, this care, and this taste when he, the Messenger supported by revelation, said: “Have you finished, Abu Al-Walid?”, “So listen to me &raquo ;? Do we find this great etiquette and noble character in our reality, in our councils and forums, and in our public and private meetings?! A merchant may lose his customers if he does not listen to their points of view, and an official may not employ the abilities of his employees well if he does not discover their talents. As for preachers and reformers who are keen to guide people, they are most in need of the art of listening and listening.

The representative of Al-Azhar saw that these meetings that bring together young people and provide the opportunity to listen to them and talk to them are necessary. So that our youth have a conscious knowledge of what is going on around them in this rapidly changing world, and also so that we can benefit from their vision and understand their needs, especially those sensitive issues that the Al-Azhar Observatory is working to confront, and which are presented in this forum by specialists, hoping that the problems will be resolved Father Cognitively, it instills hope in people and encourages them to progress and civilization, and this is the approach of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.

The representative of Al-Azhar explained that Islam is a pure doctrine that illuminates the heart of the believer, a law that pulsates with what improves the human condition in his life and in the future, and a sublime moral system that perfumes the life of society. ; It exudes the fragrance of peace and tranquility, and the Islamic nation and its faithful peoples in every country, era and generation have remained committed to their Islam, preserving their religion and their sanctities, proud of their values and originality, working to unite themselves and their word, conscious of their message and appreciating their cultural status among the nations, and they have not faded The lights of faith were extinguished in it. Rather, it was the Islamic nation It always has enlightened minds that understand the text and comprehend the reality, thus linking a close bond between authenticity and modernity, so the nation increases in faith and certainty in its Lord and adherence to the principles and morals of its religion.

The Undersecretary of Al-Azhar warned young people of the danger of biased people who try to ugnify what is good, improve what is bad, and try to distort role models. And insulting symbols, and trying to trivialize the evil in your souls so that you do not have a fixed identity that protects and protects you, and all of us and every honest official realizes that the responsibility placed on the shoulders of religious institutions and scholars is great in the necessity of reading people’s reality and the challenges it contains in all areas of life: politics, economics, society, and education. And other than that, and the necessity of presenting a parallel discourse that confronts the deviant discourse, thus preserving people’s faith and faith in their Lord, preserving the capabilities of their societies, and keeping them safe and reassured.

At the conclusion of his speech, the Undersecretary of Al-Azhar called on everyone to join hands, as individuals and institutions, peoples and governments. Nations and societies, in order to confront this sweeping current that wants our children to lose their identity, deprive themselves of the values of their religion, and disavow its principles, values, and morals. The targeting of young people is dangerous, and all capabilities must be harnessed to confront and eliminate it It has negative consequences The duty of time requires all of us to listen to the youth before we speak to them, as they have a question and we must answer, guide and advise.
