Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed witnesses the signing of an agreement between… "Emirates Development Council" And"exchange" To support "Emirates Villages Project"

ABU DHABI, 8th May, 2018 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, Chairman of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, witnessed the signing of the “Emirates Council for Balanced Development” agreement with the “Mubadala Investment Company”, aiming to Strengthening joint cooperation frameworks during the next phase, and financing projects and programs worth 73.5 million dirhams, which supports the Council’s strategy aimed at enhancing the quality of life in all regions of the country, and building a sustainable development model that provides economic and investment opportunities that achieve social stability and a decent life for the population.
The signing of the agreement comes within the framework of supporting the “Emirates Villages Project,” which aims to develop a sustainable development model in the country and provide economic and investment opportunities that achieve social stability for residents of remote areas.

The cooperation constitutes a continuation of the series of agreements concluded by the Council with a large group of strategic partners, as part of the social contributions of the private sector in achieving the goals of the “Emirates Villages Project” and consolidating the concepts of integration and joint work between the public and private sectors, which is in the interest of the Emirati society.
The agreement was signed by Mohammed Khalifa Bakhit Al Kaabi, Secretary General of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, and Humaid Abdullah Al Shammari, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Affairs and Human Resources at Mubadala Investment Company.
Al Kaabi stressed that the strategy of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, headed by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reflects the keenness of the wise leadership to achieve sustainable development in the villages and regions of the Emirates, which will benefit the population and ensure the well-being of society and decent living.
Al Kaabi said: “We are working in cooperation with partners in the private sector to achieve the vision of our leadership aimed at achieving economic development in all regions of the country, especially the villages of the Emirates, by focusing on development axes, launching commercial and economic projects to absorb the energies of youth, and raising awareness of the historical and archaeological dimension of the developed areas as An important part of the history of the UAE.”
Al Kaabi stressed the importance of cooperation with Mubadala, as it establishes a partnership that will achieve further progress and success in the project, and contribute to the development of new development models within the villages of the Emirates, through strong strategic cooperation between the public and private sectors in the country.
Humaid Abdullah Al Shammari, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Affairs and Human Resources at Mubadala Investment Company, said: “At Mubadala, we are keen to make a positive and sustainable impact on society, and this cooperation with the Emirates Council for Balanced Development comes within the framework of our keenness to activate our strategic partnerships, and as a contribution from us.” In supporting the development projects launched by the Council in the country, with the aim of developing a sustainable economic and development tributary that supports the national economy and achieves societal stability.”

He added: “Mubadala is always committed to the highest standards of social responsibility, and focuses its efforts, as a national company, on contributing to supporting various initiatives aimed at making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and improving the quality of life at the state level.”
The agreement aims to cooperate in common areas and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two parties, in addition to supporting the achievement of the council’s goals of continuing to develop the various regions and villages in the country, and promoting positive participation in economic development in accordance with future developments and the country’s economic visions, through activating influential partnerships between government sectors. Under the agreement, the two parties will work to develop joint plans to support development projects that are based on enhancing economic growth and providing a decent life for the country’s citizens and all members of society.

A joint follow-up committee will be formed to evaluate the various stages of work and ways to develop it to meet the aspirations of both parties.
The “Emirates Council for Balanced Development” seeks to work, in partnership with the private sector, to consolidate social responsibility to enhance economic growth, by developing the villages of the Emirates to achieve sustainable growth for these regions, while the “Emirates Villages Project” is the first project of the Council, and aims to enhance the quality Life in all regions of the country, and building a sustainable development model that provides more investment and development opportunities that are reflected in consolidating societal stability and continuing to provide a decent life for the residents of those villages.
The project is based on development paths that include all implemented projects. The paths depend on developing sustainable projects, coordinating and beautifying villages, and raising awareness of their historical and archaeological dimension, as they are an essential component in the history of the UAE. The Council aims to support small and medium enterprises to create a micro-economy in villages, in addition to A series of media campaigns that highlight the most important components and landmarks contained in the villages, which enhances their position on the map of domestic tourism in the country and contributes to achieving the desired social development.
