Belarus conducts joint exercises with the Russian army to test nuclear weapons

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, confirmed today, Thursday, that his country will join Russia in the second phase of exercises to test the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons. Lukashenko said: " Instructions were issued to the Ministries of Defense and the General Staff to participate alongside Russian forces in the second and third phase of exercises to use non-strategic nuclear weapons, according to the official Belarusian news agency Belta News.

In a related context, the agency quoted Russian President Vladimir Putin said: “Given the presence of non-strategic nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory, this time we have invited our friends and allies to participate in the second and third stages of the exercises to test the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons, which include three stages.” Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that President Vladimir Putin instructed the General Staff to prepare for exercises on the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons.

Russian Defense said: “In order to increase the readiness of non-strategic nuclear forces to carry out combat missions.” The General Staff began preparations to conduct maneuvers with the missile formations of the Southern Military District.
