Carlton Blues v Melbourne Demons scores, results, fixtures, teams, tips, games, how to watch

Carlton coach Michael Voss is backing his twin towers Marc Pittonet and Tom De Koning to take the game up to Melbourne captain and the game’s premier ruckman Max Gawn at the MCG tonight.

Voss said De Koning has been able to hit the scoreboard when playing forward this year, while Pittonet had been able to make a big impact at the centre bounces during the past three weeks.

“Pitto will have his hands full tonight with Gawn,” Voss told Fox Footy before the game. “But he’s gone up against him a number of times, so he certainly knows his strengths.

“And, obviously, Tom’s been able to have an impact forward as well and then come in with a little bit of freshness as the second ruck.”

Voss said returning forward Jack Martin should be ready to go despite a lengthy lay-off.

“He had a couple of niggles that stopped him from being able to take the next step in his conditioning, but he’s had a lot of conditioning,” Voss said.

“We sort of held back another week or two, just to make sure. So it’s not just about one game. Obviously, we’re trying to get him back to be able to play consecutive games and be able to finish out the year strongly.”
