China’s SME development index rose for the second month

BEIJING, 10 MAY / WAM / The index for the development of small and medium enterprises in China rose during the month of April to 89.4 points, an increase of 0.1 points compared to March, recording an increase for the second month in a row and exceeding the level of the same period in 2022 and 2023, according to data issued by China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises.

The People’s Daily Online reported that last April witnessed a slight decline of 0.1 points in the industry and real estate industry indexes compared to the previous month, while the accommodation industry index remained stable.

The data indicated that the integrated business index continued to rise in April by 0.3 points, recording the highest rate of increase, followed by the capital index with an increase of 0.2 points. The labor index also rose by 0.1 points after its decline in the previous month, and the cost and input indices rose by 0.1 points. The market index remained stable, while the macroeconomic and efficiency indexes decreased by 0.1 points after rising in the previous month.
