Details of a parliamentary delegation’s visit to health care facilities in Luxor

Providing 9 million medical and therapeutic services in hospitals… and 7 million services in family medicine centers and units

The visit included following up and checking on developments in implementing the comprehensive health insurance system in Luxor Governorate, with an emphasis on providing the best services. At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky and Counselor Mustafa Elham welcomed the visitors, stressing the importance of institutional integration and continuous cooperation to serve the Egyptian citizen. They also thanked the Senate for its continued support of the executive bodies of the Egyptian state. 

During the meeting, efforts made to provide the best service and health care for comprehensive health insurance beneficiaries in Luxor were discussed, and opinions and comments were exchanged on the visit of the Health Committee of the Council of Ministers. Sheikhs of the health facilities affiliated with the health care authority in the governorate during the days of May 8 and 9, and a number of proposals and opinions were also discussed related to the continuity of improving the services and health care provided.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki stressed, during the meeting, that all proposals and recommendations are subject to Interest and appreciation, and he promised to study all of them to work on them, and to bring health care to the global stage, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to achieve the Egyptians’ dream of comprehensive health coverage, and to reach the highest rates of user satisfaction with the service.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobki expressed his His appreciation for the continuous field visits of the Senate Health Committee, which aims to evaluate and follow up the performance of the comprehensive health insurance system and provide the best health services and care to citizens, and stressed that health care is considered an essential pillar of comprehensive development, and that customer satisfaction is the ultimate goal of the Health Care Authority.

Dr. El-Sobki pointed out that more than 9 million medical and therapeutic services have been provided in hospitals, and more than 7 million services have been provided in family medicine centers and units affiliated with the Luxor Governorate Care Authority with international quality to beneficiaries of comprehensive insurance in the governorate so far, while enhancing the role of medical tourism in Attracting more international patients.

Dr. El-Sobky added that 6 hospitals and 57 family medicine centers and units have been operated in Luxor to provide comprehensive health care for citizens, with the completion of GAHAR national accreditation for 58 facilities at a rate of 96.5% to ensure the quality and conformity of services. “We are preparing to introduce virtual health services and remote medical consultations in Luxor Governorate to enhance the quality of care, improve patient experience, provide rapid access to medical services for citizens, and develop the health system in Egypt.”

Dr. El-Sobki appreciated The Senate received praise during their visit to the authority’s health facilities in Luxor during the past two days, and stressed that these messages are motivating and encouraging to continue making more efforts to complete the path of comprehensive health reform in Egypt.
