Football: Kylian Mbappé formalizes his departure from PSG, without revealing the name of his next club
The announcement is not a surprise, the choice of the date a little more. Kylian Mbappé made his departure from Paris Saint-Germain official on Friday May 10 at the end of the season. He will play his last match at the Parc des Princes on Sunday, against Toulouse. Then he will put an end to his seven-year adventure in the final of the Coupe de France against Lyon, on May 25, in Lille.
“It’s a lot of emotions, said the Parisian striker in a four-minute video. I had the chance and the immense honor to be part of the biggest club in France, one of the best in the world, which allowed me to grow as a player and as a man.”
In a list of thanks which will inevitably be dissected without delay, the top scorer in the history of the Parisian club (255 goals) cited by name the five coaches and the two sports directors he worked with. However, he did not mention the name of the president, Nasser Al Khelaïfi.
Kylian Mbappé also made a sort of mea culpa, admitting that he was not the player “the most demonstrative” and that he had not always been “at the height of love” given by PSG supporters. Seven years with “highs and lows”, but one observation: “I don’t regret signing for this prestigious club.”
Concerning his future, he only gave a meager hint by slipping: “I didn’t think it would be this hard to leave my country.” But he did not reveal the name of his future club. Kylian Mbappé has been insistently announced for months at Real Madrid.
