"Islamic cooperation" Welcomes the decision of the United Nations General Assembly

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation expressed on Friday its welcome of the General Assembly’s decision, considering that it expresses the international consensus to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination, freedom, justice and independence, and the necessity of ending the Israeli colonial occupation of the Palestinian land since 1967.

 

 

The organization affirmed in a statement its absolute support for the legitimate right of the State of Palestine to realize its political and legal status in the United Nations like the rest of the countries of the world. As an entitlement that has been enforceable for decades, based on the political, legal, historical and natural rights of the Palestinian people to their land, affirmed by the relevant United Nations resolutions, and in accordance with the official recognition it enjoys from 144 countries, as well as its full membership in dozens of international organizations and agreements.< /p>

 

 

The Secretary-General of the Organization, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, appreciated the positions of the countries that supported the draft resolution in the United Nations General Assembly, and urged the UN Security Council to return Consider positively the request of the State of Palestine to obtain full membership in the United Nations, calling on all countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to do so, in a way that contributes to supporting the efforts aimed at ending the Israeli colonial occupation and stopping the crime of genocide to which the Palestinian people are subjected, and enabling them to practice All of his legitimate rights, including his right to return, self-determination, and the realization of the establishment of his independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital, leading to achieving just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the region on the basis of the relevant United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
