"National human rights" Participates in the launch of the second session of the ISIS International Women’s Theater Festival

Ambassador Fahmi Fayed, Secretary-General of the National Council for Human Rights, participated in the press conference held yesterday at the headquarters of the Supreme Council of Culture, to launch the second session of the ISIS International Women’s Theater Festival. This comes within the framework of the National Council for Human Rights’ support for the festival, in a way that enhances the Council’s role in disseminating The culture of human rights and the consolidation of its values.

 

Ambassador Fahmi Fayed stressed the Council’s interest in the role of culture, drama of all kinds, and the arts in general in shaping societal awareness, and stressed the festival’s keenness to raise awareness of human rights, especially local and international women’s issues, and to encourage theater makers to address their issues and concerns  And promoting the values ​​of acceptance of others and world peace.

 

 He pointed out that the festival did not forget to allocate a track under the title “Creative Women Under Bombardment” To review the different experiences and how women innovate in volatile areas, including the Palestinian issue.

 

 The conference was opened by Abeer Lotfy, Chair of the Festival’s Board of Trustees, an elite group of female members of the Board of Trustees, and the artist Elham Shaheen, Honorary President of the Festival, where the festival’s activities and its role in empowering women and supporting their rights were reviewed.

Dr. Iman Karim, General Supervisor of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, also participated, who recommended working on the necessity of making all theaters accessible to people with disabilities, and addressing the challenges facing women with disabilities and their families through art.

 

Ambassador Fayed pointed out the interest of the National Council for Human Rights, through the Council’s Cultural Committee headed by Samira Louka, in selecting the most prominent television dramas that serve human rights issues during the month of Ramadan each year.
