The United States has allocated a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth $400 million

White House on Friday announced on the allocation of a new package of military assistance to Ukraine. Its volume is 400 million dollars. It will include weapons and ammunition, as well as services for maintaining equipment and training Ukrainian military personnel.

As part of this package, Ukraine should get HIMARS artillery systems, missiles for them and for the Norwegian NASAMS missile systems, anti-tank and anti-aircraft shells, as well as armored vehicles. Deliveries will be made directly from American warehouses from existing stocks. They will be subject to the PDA procedure, which allows them to begin sending immediately after a presidential decree, without having to go through Congress.

This is the third tranche of military aid to Ukraine since President Biden signed more than $60 billion in relief legislation in late April. The decision on Friday was made against the backdrop of aggravation of the situation at the front in the Kharkov region, where the Russian army intensified shelling. Ukrainian authorities called the situation in the Kharkov direction “really difficult” and expressed hope that supplies of American weapons and ammunition in the near future will help contain the offensive of Russian troops.
