Higher Education: The first Executive Council of Employment Centers convenes

In implementation of the directives of the political leadership, on the need to link education to the labor market, and to link specializations to the actual needs of the labor market, and the directives on the need to complete the employment center because of its effective role in participating in the labor market, and the true understanding of the needs of the labor market.

 

Within the framework of the Alliance and Development Initiative launched by the Ministry; To achieve a development boom in the various geographical regions of Egypt, and to enhance scientific and research cooperation between Egyptian universities, the industrial and business community, and productive institutions.

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, directed that an expanded meeting be held for members of the Executive Council established by a ministerial decision. For employment centers in the seven regions, headed by Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for strategic planning, training and qualification for the labor market, and in the presence of members of the Central Unit for Supporting the Career Path, the directors of the centers, and representatives of the seven regions; To discuss the latest developments in the conference on the future of career building in light of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030, which was held last May under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and in the presence of the presidents of public and private universities. And private sector, and all members of employment centers in Egyptian universities.

In this context, Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed that the Ministry pays great attention to qualifying students for the labor market, and qualifying them to compete in international labor markets, as a comprehensive plan was launched to advance the student. university and qualifying them for the labor market, noting that the advancement of university students is an investment in Egypt’s future, by providing the skilled human resources necessary to achieve sustainable development, enhance Egypt’s ability to compete globally, and realize the aspirations of Egyptian youth.

The meeting dealt with Discussing and presenting the semi-final draft of the unified regulations for employment centers for the centers in preparation for their evaluation for accreditation, which emerged from the communication axis, which is the third principle of  The National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030.

The Council discussed the mechanisms for operating the career path support platform “CSM”, and linking it to the Ministry’s central platform to support the career path and linking to the labor market.

 The Council also agreed To present the results of the meeting at the annual conference of employment centers, which is scheduled to be held at the end of May 2024, in the presence of the presidents of Egyptian universities, and all the work teams in the university employment centers. 

 

 

It is worth noting that one of the most important roles of the Executive Council is  Investment support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) In establishing employment centers and developing future plans; To ensure the continuity and efficiency of all centers, whether currently being established or centers established so far.
