Infuriated Marcus Rashford confronts a heckling fan at Old Trafford during Man United’s warm-up and is pulled away by his team-mates ahead of Newcastle clash

Marcus Rashford appeared to confront a member of the crowd inside Old Trafford during Manchester United’s team warm-up ahead of their game against Newcastle on Wednesday night. 

The England striker appeared to be warming up on the side of the pitch with the rest of his team, but appeared to become infuriated by comments that were directed to him by members of the public who had arrived early to watch the players warm up. 

In one video the striker can be seen confronting several members of the crowd, speaking back towards them. In another, he was seen being ushered away from the touchline by his team-mates. 

Fans can be heard in the video seemingly shouting ‘Rashford!’ and heckling the 26-year-old. 

One person was heard saying ‘Oi d*******’, as the Man United star walked away from the edge of the pitch. His team-mate, Cristian Eriksen, can also be seen trying to take his mind off the comments being made by the spectators, grabbing his arm and appearing to pull him away from walking towards the stands. 

In a separate video, one fan can be overheard telling those sat near to a group of photographers to ‘just leave him [Rashford] alone.’ 

It’s been a tough season for the Man United star, who has failed to match his 30-goal haul of last season. 

Amid injuries and issues off the pitch, the striker has scored just seven goals in the Premier League this season, having made 31 appearances. 

Some United fans have criticised his performances online, with well-known YouTuber Mark Goldbridge hitting out at Rashford for his lack of form. 

After recieving abuse online, Rashford offered a worrying update, speaking out against ‘months of abuse’ he had received, telling fans that ‘enough was enough’.

One United fan had published a post on X (formerly Twitter) which read: ‘The way Marcus Rashford is being treated is absolutely disgusting. It’s cruel. It’s abuse.’

The United forward wrote back claiming that he was tired of the abuse he has received in recent months. ‘I appreciate your support! It is abuse and has been for months. Enough is enough,’ Rashford said. 

Earlier this season, the England star had faced the wrath of his manager Erik ten Hag after he was spotted on a night out in Belfast, before subsequently failing to turn up to training, costing him a place in United’s squad for their FA Cup clash against Newport County. 

Since then, the forward has returned to the side but has struggled to find the back of the net.
