Cole Palmer is the FPL’s leading points scorer for the 2023-24 season… But which pros were victorious in the Player’s League? As one ex-Man United star places inside the top five

The final Fantasy Premier League Player’s League standings have been revealed with one ex-Manchester United star ranking inside the top three professionals playing the game this season. 

After 38 weeks, Jonas Sand Labakk from Norway emerged victorious with his team Onkel Blaa picking up a whopping 2,799 points over the course of the season, winning himself two VIP hospitality tickets to two 2024-25 Premier League matches among other prizes. 

In the game, Cole Palmer was the player who accumulated the most points for FPL players this season. He surpassed Manchester City duo Phil Foden and Erling Haaland – who have also enjoyed sensational campaigns – to amass 244 points. 

Over the course of the 2023-24 campaign, the 22-year-old was selected by 51.3 per cent of FPL players, having scored 22 goals in the top-flight, ranking second only to Haaland in the league’s top scorers tally. 

While the game has captured the attention of nearly 11million players this season, a raft of professional footballers have also been playing along and the final standings of the footballers whose teams have ranked the highest in the game, has been revealed.

According to FPL Focal, Leicester City defender James Justin, who has enjoyed an excellent season on the pitch with the Foxes, winning the Championship.

He has also tasted glory in the FPL this season, scoring 2,619 points overall to place him at 1,583 in the world rankings and top of the Player’s League. 

His final team hincluded all of included Haaaland, Palmer, Son and Foden, with the latter bagging him 15 points after scoring twice against West Ham on Sunday.

Burnley’s Hjalmar Ekdal enjoyed some success too, finishing second in the table, ranking 5,798th in the world. Everton youngster Mackenzie Hunt followed him at 40,867th in the overall player rankings.

Meanwhile, former Manchester United and Roma star Chris Smalling placed fourth in the rankings, with his team ‘Dumb & Dummett’. 

He finished 195,175th in the world and finished strongly this season, claiming 52 points on the final gameweek with his striker Alexander Isak pulling in 14 points with a goal and two assists agianst Brentford at the weekend. 

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall complteted the top five players, ranking 251,485 in the world while his former Leicester team-mate, James Maddison, who was today named in Gareth Southgate’s provisional England Squad for Euro 2024, placed inside the top 10 with his team ‘Rome & Away’.

Maddison’s final team of the season, was set up with a 3-4-3 formation with David Raya in net, with a defence of Daniel Munoz, Gabriel and Malo Gusto. In midfield, he had selected Kai Havertz, Phil Foden, Son and Palmer, while he opted for a front three of Isak, Nicolas Jackson and Haaland. 

The England midfielder finished at 662,332 in the world, higher than his international team-mates Kieran Trippier (ranked 1,708,305) and Anthony Gordon (ranked 5,865,155).
