"Education and knowledge " National Identity Mark inspection tours continue in private schools

ABU DHABI, May 21 / WAM / The Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi continues its efforts to enhance the role of private schools in consolidating Emirati students’ understanding of national customs, traditions and values within the framework of inspection rounds for the national identity mark.

To date, 153 schools have been evaluated in several stages, during which 8 schools received an outstanding evaluation, while 33 schools received a good evaluation, and 79 schools received an acceptable evaluation.

Despite the promising results, the department stressed the need for some schools to make more efforts to improve their evaluation, with more private schools to be evaluated in the next stage.

In this context, Dr. Sarah Al Suwaidi, Director of the Oversight and Quality Assurance Office at the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi, called on all private schools in Abu Dhabi to continue developing national identity programs within the school curricula, regardless of the number of Emirati students in them, by enhancing the participation of various sectors of the school community in Including parents, to provide a supportive and rich educational environment that goes beyond the boundaries of the classroom.

She added that despite the diversity of the results of this evaluation, we are optimistic about the commitment shown by schools to continuous development and employing the National Identity Mark framework to provide parents with a comprehensive overview of the efficiency of the implemented programs.

Six schools that were evaluated during the first phase of the inspection rounds submitted a request for re-evaluation, provided that inspection visits will be completed to include 60 private schools by the end of the current academic year.

The national identity mark covers three main axes: the axis of cultural heritage, which includes elements of history, heritage, and the Arabic language; The values axis, including respect, empathy and global understanding; The citizenship axis, which focuses on belonging, volunteerism, and environmental preservation.

Compliance with the national identity mark is evaluated separately from the Irtiqaa programme, organized by the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi, and covers the performance standards of private schools in the emirate while providing the necessary recommendations to improve performance.
