The Ministry of Health and Population announced the issuance of 289,590 treatment decisions at state expense, at a total cost of one billion, 713 million and 392 thousand pounds, during the month of last April, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to lift the burden from the shoulders of citizens, especially those who are unable.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the total beneficiaries of the decisions issued for treatment at state expense amounted to 276 thousand and 573 citizens, indicating that this comes within the framework of Facilitating procedures for citizens to obtain integrated medical services, adding that the treatment decisions issued included specializations (blood diseases, oncology, surgery, gynecology, internal medicine, nose and ear, urology, and bones, in addition to skin and neurological diseases).
He added. «Abdul Ghaffar» 473 cases were discussed using “video conferencing” technology. This is to facilitate procedures for citizens, and issue treatment decisions without the need to come to the headquarters of the General Administration of Specialized Medical Councils, and without the patient bearing any hardship.
Abdul Ghaffar explained that it is within the framework of the Ministry of Health’s strategy and its role in caring for people of determination. Of the applicants for the integrated services card, a medical examination was conducted on 31,630 thousand applicants for the integrated services card during the month of last April, indicating an increase in the number of medical examination committees for people with special needs to 511 medical committees at the level of the governorates of the Republic.
Disability cases eligible for the integrated services card
Dr. Muhammad Zidan, Director of the General Administration of Specialized Medical Councils, pointed out that disability cases eligible for the integrated services card include multi-limb amputation or amputation of one limb, quadriplegia, and cerebral palsy. And cases of muscular dystrophy, polio in one or more limbs, in addition to cases of blindness, multiple disabilities, cases of Down syndrome, and other intellectual disabilities – IQ 35% or less – in addition to cases of autism spectrum and dwarfism.
“Zidane” pointed out: To sign a medical examination for 11,693 citizens requesting cars equipped for people with special needs exempt from taxes and customs duties, adding that a medical examination was discussed and signed for 19,271 citizens requesting cash support (solidarity and dignity pension).
