Four teenagers have been arrested following a dramatic high-speed police pursuit that stretched from Sydney’s southwest to the city’s eastern suburbs earlier today.
Just after 10.30am, police attempted to stop a white Mazda CX-3, allegedly stolen from a home in Victoria the previous day.
The vehicle failed to stop on the Hume Highway at Edmondson Park, forcing officers to initiate a pursuit.
The chase continued along the M5 Motorway towards the M7 at Prospect but was called off due to safety concerns.
Polair began tracking the vehicle from the air as it sped through Milperra, where the pursuit started again.
But it was terminated once again when items were thrown from the moving car at pursuing police vehicle.
Despite efforts to evade capture, the stolen Mazda was tracked eastbound along the M5, weaving through the suburbs of Alexandria, Zetland, Centennial Park, Randwick, and eventually Bondi Junction.
At approximately 11.20am, the car was abandoned inside the Bondi Junction Railway Station bus interchange.
The group was arrested – two boys aged 14, and two girls aged 12 and 17 (pictured one of the arrested teens)
