David joined Lille from Belgian side Gent in 2020 and has scored 109 goals in 231 games.
He won the Ligue 1 title in 2020-21, the club’s first victory in a decade and the only time it has eluded Paris Saint-Germain in the last eight seasons.
The 25-year-old has represented Canada 61 times, bagging 32 goals.
He will play his final game for Lille against Reims on Saturday in their last league fixture of the campaign.
The forward previously said his preferred destination would be Spain, having previously also been linked with moves to Arsenal and Manchester United.
Speaking to the It’s Called Soccer podcast, he said: ‘I think I can adapt to every league. Every league has its differences.
‘The Premier League is a lot faster and more physical than all of the other leagues. But for me, I grew up watching a lot of La Liga and for me, that would be my preferred league.
‘That is the league that I enjoyed watching the most so one day I would like to play there.’
