Aaron Phypers has denied the abuse allegations levelled against him by Denise Richards while claiming to have caught her cheating on him in the lead up to their divorce.
Earlier this month, Phypers filed for divorce from the Wild Things star after six years of marriage, with court documents (per People) citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
Days later, Richards — also known as a former castmate of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — accused Phypers of multiple incidents of physical abuse.
Those allegations, which came to light in court documents (per People), included claims that throughout their marriage, Pyphers “frequently” choked and slapped Richards, and “regularly threatened to break my jaw”.
Richards also accused Phypers of causing her “at least three concussions”, with the alleged abuse in one instance leading her to “plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me”.
In the wake of the accusations, Richards was granted a temporary restraining order against Phypers from the Superior Court of California. Phypers has since denied all the allegations against him.
“Let me be unequivocally clear: I have never physically or emotionally abused Denise — or anyone,” Phypers said in a statement to People earlier this week.
“These accusations are completely false and deeply hurtful.”
Now, Phypers has come forward with his own allegations, including accusations of infidelity and physical abuse on Richards’ part.

Phypers made the claims during an interview with TMZ on Saturday, saying he discovered Richards was allegedly cheating on him at the beginning of this year.
He said he found out about the alleged infidelity after discovering text messages on Richards’ laptop between herself and another man.
The text messages, Phyphers claimed, included phrases like “sweet dreams” and indications that Richards and the man wanted to meet up.
In the same TMZ interview, Phypers accused Richards of hitting and scratching him, as well as smashing his phone, after he confronted her about her alleged cheating.

Richards has yet to respond to either the infidelity or physical abuse allegations.
Richards and Phypers’ relationship appeared prominently throughout her two-season run on The Real Housewives, with their wedding day featured in an episode in season nine.
