the best beauty launches of August 2025

August is transitional. It’s the last month of winter (in the southern hemisphere), and a great time to let go of stagnant energy. It’s also a good time to refresh your beauty and wellness habits: plant-based body care, mattifying skin tonics, hair tools that promise a salon-worthy blow dry at home… From new brands (including one by an Aesop alumni) to updated classics (there’s a new AirWrap), find the best in new beauty for August, below.

La Mer Balancing Treatment Lotion

This softening lotion has recently been upgraded. It’s a press-on toner to gently exfoliate and refine the skin’s texture, minimising the look of pores, texture and shine.

MUTHA Body Butter

MUTHA finally launched at Mecca. What started as kitchen sink beauty (founder Hope Smith was mixing up oils and butters to use during her pregnancy) has turned into a fully fledged skincare brand. The original body butter though has a cult following. With skincare adjacent ingredients, it’s an oil-based formula that melts when massaged into the skin, leaving it smooth and glossy.

Dyson Airwrap Co-anda

Dyson is offering an upgraded version of its already cult-loved Air Wrap to include a stronger motor for even more powerful air flow. It’s also slightly smaller, making it easier to manoeuvre. If you’re yet to try and still on the fence, now might be a good time to pull the trigger.

Augustinus Bader The Elixir

Augustinus Bader has launched its most concentrated formula yet, The Elixir. It’s full of the brand’s signature TFC8 complex (for improved cellular communication) as well as an exclusive peptide complex to improve the appearance of wrinkles, dullness and discolouration. It’s a splurge, but if you’re a fan of AB you won’t be disappointed.

To My Ships Of The Gods Polygonum Roll-On Deodorant

Also new to Australia is To My Ships, a body and fragrance brand by one of the former Aesop founders. This deodorant is aluminium free and smells like a herb garden. Plus it will keep you smelling good all day.

Hermes Nail Polish in Vert Aqua

Hermes is known for its limited seasonal colours across eyes and lips. This shade, Vert Aqua, is a soft pastel mint that’s perfect across the entire nail, or painted on as a French tip.

Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Stick

Dior have released a balm version of its viral pink powder blush, and it’s perfect. The lolly pink shade is youthful and instantly energises the skin, while the creamy texture adds dewiness. It works on cheeks, eyes and lips, too.

CeraVe Balancing Air Foam Cleanser

CeraVe do great cleansers. They’re simple, effective, accessible and safe for sensitive skin. The latest launch is this Balancing Air Foam, a fluffy mousse that removes makeup and dirt while gently rehydrating for a soft, balanced complexion.

Prada Pradascope Mascara

Prada is doing incredible things as far as makeup goes. The Pradascope mascara has a unique single-sided wand that scoops up each lash and coats it with inky black pigment for full, spidery lashes.

The Beauty Chef Body+ Protein

Everyone loves protein right now, as they should. But it can be challenging to get enough in… Enter, The Beauty Chef. The formula is plant-based, tastes great and is full of gut nourishing pre and probiotics.
