Taylor Swift fans are fully losing the plot — and for good reason. Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, looks set to become ground zero for what might be the internet’s worst-kept secret — a fresh Taylor Swift era announcement.
The evidence is everywhere, basically flashing orange neon signs and burning heart emojis.
What is Taylor Swift announcing today?
On Monday morning, Taylor Nation — Swift’s official marketing and PR team — set the internet ablaze with a 12-photo Instagram carousel captioned, “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’ ❤️🔥.”
Every single image featured Taylor in an orange outfit. Within minutes, fans flooded the comments. “I’M LITERALLY SHAKING,” wrote a swiftie.
“TS12 IS ORANGE DEFINITELY,” said another.
Even the silence is suspicious. Taylor Nation usually pairs clips with her music, but this time? No soundtrack at all. Fans reckon that’s because the music for this “era” doesn’t exist publicly yet.
The post was uploaded exactly 12 minutes after the New Heights social accounts teased their next podcast episode, which is an oddly perfect coincidence given that Taylor’s next album would be her 12th.
That New Heights post came from Travis Kelce and his brother Jason, announcing they were “coming back early for a special episode with a VERY special guest”. The promo image included the brothers standing next to a black silhouette against a bedazzled orange background.
Jason was conveniently wearing an Eras Tour midnight blue sweater, and yes, the colour scheme looked suspiciously like the one Taylor Nation had just blasted across our feeds.
The episode is dropping on August 13 — which any Swiftie will tell you is Taylor’s favourite number.
Swifties quickly noticed another detail — the post went live at 9:12am. Americans write dates as month/day, meaning 9/12 could be September 12 — a Friday, which also happens to be the day Taylor traditionally releases albums.
Taylor Swift’s official website also has a literal countdown on it now, to add to the excitement. “Expires August 12 at 12:12am ET,” the website reads right now.
Fans with sharper eyes lined up the mystery silhouette in the New Heights post with a photo of Taylor from her Variety “Directors on Directors” interview — originally posted on December 12, because of course it was. Then there’s the fact that Republic Records, Taylor’s label, liked the New Heights announcement and dropped a fiery orange heart into the comments on Taylor Nation’s post.
Nothing about this feels subtle.
It was confirmed that Taylor would be appearing on her boyfie’s podcast when the New Heights social media accounts posted a sneak peek of the episode.
Taylor can be seen saying, “Such a nice colour on you,” to which Travis replied in his blue jumper, “Yes, I know. It’s the colour of your eyes sweetie. It’s why we match so well.”
The short clip ends with Taylor excitedly saying, “We’re about to do a fucking podcast!”
Notably, her captions on the video are orange in colour the whole time. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!!
Whether this all leads to a TS12 album drop, an Eras Tour documentary, or a completely different chaos-inducing announcement, one thing is certain: Wednesday’s New Heights episode has become required, possibly life-altering listening for Swifties.
