
John Mercurio has been promoted to executive vice president, global communications at the MPA, starting on Sept. 1.
In the new role, he will continue to lead global communications and report to MPA chairman and CEO Charles Rivkin. The reporting lines will remain the same. Greg Saphier was named senior vice president and head of public affairs last year, and Mercurio to senior VP and head of corporate communications at the trade and lobbying organization.

Mercurio, who joined the MPA in 2020, has launched initiatives such as the MPA Awards, and worked on growth of the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment, the global anti-piracy coalition.
