Insiders involved in The Golden Bachelor have come forward to deny speculation that the Bachie himself, Bear Myrden, is currently dating the show’s host, Samantha Armytage.
If your jaw just hit the floor, scoop it up while I provide a little context.
Rumours of a potential romance between Myrden and Armytage kicked off earlier this month, when they represented The Golden Bachelor with a joint appearance on the Logies red carpet.
While that all seems innocent enough, Daily Mail reports that some Logies attendees felt the pair’s appearance was more than just professional, with one onlooker telling the outlet that “people were joking that maybe Bear is the one making [Armytage] so happy”.
“They arrived together, posed together, and really looked like a team,” the source added.
The romance rumours are unconfirmed, but since we all revel in a bit of reality TV tea, a producer came forward to make sure the speculation is completely stamped out before The Golden Bachelor airs later this year.
“Sam’s the host, full stop,” a network insider told Daily Mail Australia.
“She’s been hugely supportive of Bear and the show, but there’s nothing happening between them.”
The rumour mill was further stopped short by Myrden himself, who denied he’s with anyone outside of the show during a Logies red carpet interview.
“That’s just rumours,” he said.

While it might not be the juicy BTS tea you were hoping for, we can at least rest assured that Myrden — who was revealed as Australia’s first-ever Golden Bachie back in March — will deliver plenty of romantic drama when the show hits screens towards the end of this year.
An exact release date is not yet confirmed, but we do know that Armytage has taken the hosting reins from Osher Günsberg (much to his surprise), and that the Bachelor franchise is migrating to Channel 9 from its previous home at Channel 10.
We also know that unlike other entries into the BCU (Bachelor Cinematic Universe), this instalment will follow a bunch of singles looking for love in their twilight years.
As for who it is that ultimately wins Myrden’s heart, well, it’s definitely not Armytage, thank you very much.
