She’s only a few weeks into her stint Down Under and already Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway has whipped up rumours of a romance while studying at the University of Sydney.
ICYMI, the young royal — who is second in line for the Norwegian throne — kicked off her three-year Bachelor of Arts degree, with a focus on international relations, at the Aussie uni earlier this month, living out a real-life Princess Diaries right on our own shores.
Alexandra is living on campus at St Andrew’s College, and — if the royal rumour mill is to be believed — has already fraternised to the point of landing an Aussie boyfriend.
That’s according to Daily Mail Australia, which earlier today published a source’s claims that Alexandra has consistently rebuffed other male students’ advances because she is already taken.
“She’s been telling them, ‘I see you all as little brothers,’” the source said of Alexandra’s diplomatic rejections to a swathe of would-be Norwegian Princes.
Apparently, Alexandra’s rejections have sparked whispers that she’s already dating a student from… wait for it… Saint Paul’s College, which is the longtime rival of Saint Andrew’s and is also located on the USYD campus. Gasp!
In the Sydney uni bubble, that’s some Romeo and Juliet-level star-crossed lover lore.

The whispers of Alexandra’s BF arose over the weekend, with Daily Mail Australia claiming to have overheard two reporters discussing the tea at the Kennedy Awards for Australian Journalism.
“I hear she’s dating a Paul’s boy,” one of the journos supposedly said while at the ceremony.
Of course, it’s all unconfirmed rumours at this stage, and while we don’t yet know the identity of this supposed BF, I for one hope Alexandra gets her Mia Thermopolis leg-pop moment with an Aussie student.
In my imagination, he has a mullet, but I’ll take whatever fairytale deets I can get.
Whatever the case, it’s not the first time Alexandra has churned the royal rumour mill since her arrival Down Under.
Last month, it was reported that Norway’s royal-watchers were in a tizzy over Alexandra’s choice of Australia for her studies, citing supposed concerns around how far away it is from her home country.
The royalists also apparently compared her USYD stint to a “prison stay” (ouch), prompting this writer to do his best Mia Thermompolis “shut up!” in response.

Meanwhile, fellow young European royal, Princess Isabella of Denmark, also got tongues wagging last week after wearing a shirt emblazoned with the phrase “fucked him yesterday”.
Petition for Alexandra and Isabella (and Mia) to usher in a less demure picture of royal life starts now.
