Timothée Chalamet wears perfume where he wants to be kissed — specifically Bleu De CHANEL L’Exclusif, and specifically on his neck.
Known for starring roles in Call Me By Your Name and A Complete Unknown, Timothée is the face of just-launched Bleu de CHANEL L’Exclusif, an ultra-concentrated iteration of the male classic by In-House Perfumer Olivier Polge.
Bleu De Chanel L’Exclusif is categorically an aromatic amber. Smooth but rich, Polge has combined notes of leather and cistus labdanum, as well as an overdose of sandalwood. The sandalwood in particular follows CHANEL’s commitment to supply chain sustainability: it’s grown exclusively for the house on the island of Maré, New Caledonia. CHANEL is also known for its outdoor laboratories around the world, where raw materials are grown and harvested in collaboration with leading botanists, including the tuberose, jasmine, iris, geranium and rose (all of which are found in CHANEL No. 5).
Bleu De Chanel L’Exclusif has more power and projection than the original Bleu de CHANEL, intensity tempered with the classic soapy freshness of lavender and citrus. It’s the olfactory interpretation of an impenetrable dark blue, and probably CHANEL’s boldest male fragrance to date.
It’s no wonder Chalamet wears it where he wants to be kissed.
Bleu De CHANEL is the first time Polge has reimagined the house classic in about seven years. The ogirinal Blue was launched in 2010, an eau de toilette by the In-House Perfumer at the time, Jacques Polge (who is also Olivier’s father). Timothée was announced as a house ambassador in 2023. A CHANEL boy through and through, he embodies the house commitment to art and culture. Conveniently, he’s also half French.
Blue De Chanel is available from today via CHANEL beauty boutiques and online, as well as in selected retailers.
