Man is found dead on a driveway in Ivanhoe, one of Melbourne’s most expensive suburbs

An affluent inner-city Melbourne suburb has been rocked by the death of a man found lying in a driveway moments after multiple gunshots were heard.

Emergency services were called to a home in Linden Avenue, Ivanhoe, about 6pm on Tuesday, after a dog walker spotted the body outside a block of townhouses.

The man suffered critical injuries and couldn’t be revived.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The cause of death is yet to be determined and is being treated as suspicious.

It’s understood neighbours heard an altercation and gunshots beforehand, Channel Seven reported.

Photos show the leafy street cordoned off from the public as detectives and forensic officers examined the crime scene.

A SES tent was erected near where the man’s body was found.
