Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding plans ramp up as venue and date get locked in… but there’s a hitch

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s fairytale romance is heading straight for ‘I do’ as the wedding location and date appear to be set… as long as they can come to an agreement  on one major detail.

The couple shocked the world on August 26 when they revealed their engagement with a carousel of sweet garden snaps and the cheeky caption: ‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.’

Fans immediately went into overdrive, dissecting every detail — from Easter eggs hidden in the photos to Swift’s dazzling Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond ring that’s already sparking a trend.

But what everyone really wants to know is where and when, a question so hot that even a council in Queensland, Australia went viral after begging the couple to marry Down Under. 

Now, an insider tells Daily Mail exclusively that the couple is set on Swift’s sprawling $28 million oceanfront estate in Watch Hill, Rhode Island — the same property that once played host to her legendary Fourth of July parties. 

‘His family doesn’t care where it’s at. It could be in Timbuktu and they’d go there for it. But yeah — right now is that it’s going to be in Rhode Island at her mansion,’ the source shared.

But while the venue seems locked in, the real question is what kind of wedding it will be. 

‘He wants a big blowout with everyone he loves, but he did say that he has to run it by her. So I’d guess he wants a bigger thing than she does,’ the insider added. 

That decision could be tricky, given their massive circle of family and friends. 

Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates — including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who already congratulated the couple — are expected to be high on the guest list.

Swift’s longtime friends — supermodels Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, and Cara Delevingne — were quick to show their support, liking her engagement post almost immediately.

Over the weekend, the pop star was spotted celebrating Brittany Mahomes’ 30th birthday, keeping her social circle close as wedding plans continue to unfold. 

Noticeably absent from her orbit, however, is Blake Lively, whose once-tight friendship with the pop star has cooled. 

Their falling out escalated last year when Swift’s name surfaced in Lively’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni. 

Though a subpoena was eventually dropped, the drama seems to have left lasting scars.

Whatever the final guest list looks like, the Rhode Island estate is a picture-perfect backdrop. 

Set on five acres with manicured gardens, a swimming pool and pool house, sweeping patios, and 700 feet of private beach, the home is built for a celebration.

The eight-bedroom, ten-bathroom mansion — complete with eight fireplaces — was purchased by Swift in 2013 when she was just 23. 

She reportedly paid in full with a single wire transfer. 

At the time, the home’s proximity to then-boyfriend Conor Kennedy’s family compound in Newport raised plenty of eyebrows.

However, after the relationship ended, Swift ultimately moved in, turning the sprawling estate into her own private retreat. 

Since then, the home has hosted A-listers ranging from Selena Gomez and Cara Delevingne to exes Tom Hiddleston, Calvin Harris, and Joe Jonas. 

More recently, Swift welcomed Kelce and close friends there in August 2024 for a private getaway.

With recent reports of a $1.7 million expansion already underway, Swift may be setting the stage for her biggest party yet — one that could mark the start of an exciting new era with the NFL star.

Of course, once the wedding takes place, the next big question is where the couple will settle down. 

With each of their sprawling real estate portfolios, they certainly have no shortage of options.

Swift first entered the property game in 2009 at just 19, snapping up a three-bedroom penthouse in Nashville for $1.99 million. 

Over the years, she has built an impressive collection of lavish homes across New York City, California, Rhode Island, and Tennessee.

Her NFL star fiancé also boasts an enviable real estate roster, including his $6 million Kansas City estate, which served as the backdrop for their engagement photos.

In addition, the pair were spotted house hunting together in June in Cleveland, Ohio — Kelce’s hometown — suggesting they are considering a joint residence despite their already substantial holdings. 

The couple ‘visited at least two opulent homes currently for sale in Northeast Ohio’s tony Eastside suburbs,’ according to Cleveland Scene,

Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl winner, grew up in Cleveland Heights alongside his brother Jason, a former Philadelphia Eagles standout, but the couple appears to be eyeing even grander communities. 

‘Wealth is abundant’ in the neighborhoods they toured, the outlet added.

Only time will tell where Swift and Kelce ultimately choose to settle down. 

With so many properties and possibilities at their disposal, it’s clear the pop superstar and her NFL star fiancé have no shortage of options for where to start their life together.
