Rostic documents reveal an Algerian request for Su-57 fighters from Russia

Arab Defense website-October 5, 2025: Interior documents belonging to the Russian Foundation “Rostic” revealed for the first time plans to supply the advanced fifth generation fighters “Su-57” to Algeria, in addition to determining the number of “Su-35” aircraft that Iran requested.

The correspondence archives were published by the Foundation by the Black Mirror Group.

According to the documents, “CONCERN RADIO-EECTRONIC Technologies-Cret JSC” in 2022 received a request to produce electronic equipment for the Su-57 fighters that are made for Algeria.

Russia had announced at the end of 2024 the signing of the first export contract for “Su-57” aircraft, but it did not reveal the customer’s identity at that time, making these documents an official confirmation of the previous rumors about Algeria’s request for six advanced Russian fighters of this model in favor of its air force.

One of the tables mentioned in the documents shows a request for driving and control systems with two batches of six units for each batch, and it is likely that six of them will be delivered with planes, while the other six are allocated as spare parts.

The documents also confirm that the Algerian army requested 14 Russian Su-34 bombs, as it is inferred from the request of the same number of driving and control indicators allocated to these aircraft.

In addition to the aircraft, each bomber was requested to the modern electronic warfare system, “L-265VE KHIBINY-U).

The emergence of “Su-34” aircraft with a desert camouflage was reported in the spring of this year, according to what was published by the “Misstarienie” website. Algerian media have spoken of this request since 2021, but there has been no official confirmation yet.

Documents issued by the Russian Air Systems Manufacturer Company also indicate an export contract that includes 24 “A-265m10-02-110 (364” code-i.e. Iran.

This version of the electronic jamming system is a specialized for “Su-35” aircraft, and has been asked to equip the Iranian Air Force as part of a mutual deal that includes the establishment of a line to produce the offensive “Shahid-136” offensive aircraft in Russia.

However, the number of aircraft required within the deal was not accurately known until soon.

Su-57 “Philon”

In February 2025, Confirm Algeria officially purchased the Russian fifth generation fighters “Su-57”, thus becoming the first country outside Russia to receive this advanced plane. The deal was announced on Algerian government television, noting that the Algerian pilots are currently receiving training in Russia to lead these fighters.
