Al-Azhar University launches the “Letters of Light with Knowledge We See” initiative for male and female students with vision

Within the framework of Al-Azhar University’s interest in its children with special needs, and under the patronage of His Eminence Dr. Salama Jumaa Daoud, President of the University, the General Administration of Student Welfare launched a distinguished initiative entitled: “Letters of Light, with Knowledge We See” directed to the university’s students with vision and “blind”.

 

 This came in the presence of His Eminence Dr. Salama Jumaa Daoud, President of the University, Dr. Mahmoud Siddiq, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Sayed Bakri, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Brigadier General Hazem Al-Sayyid Al-Imam, Director of the Military Education Department at the University, and Dr. Ahmed Kishk, General Director of Student Care at Al-Azhar University. Distributing 100 Qur’an in Braille, and 30 laptops equipped with speaking programs, in addition to hearing aids for people of determination who are hard of hearing.

 

The President of the University confirmed that this initiative enjoys great support from His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, who gives great care to male and female students of determination, based on the vision of the political leadership led by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah. Al-Sisi, President of the Republic, towards caring for and empowering people of determination; In order to achieve the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030.

The university president added that this initiative comes within a series of humanitarian and educational initiatives adopted by the university. In order to enhance the principle of equal opportunities and support the state’s efforts to empower people of determination and fully integrate them into the university community.
