Security source: Completion of the plan to secure the second phase of the House of Representatives elections
Three days and the second phase of the marathon of the 2025 House of Representatives elections begins, which includes 13 governorates nationwide.
A high-ranking security source in the Ministry of Interior announced that all security sectors in the Ministry have completed the plan to secure the electoral process, in implementation of the directives of Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of Interior.
The source said – in a special statement to the Orient News Agency Al-Awsat Today, Friday – The plan includes securing the electoral campus for voting committees from abroad, through intensive security deployment around the committees and all the roads and axes surrounding them, in coordination with the concerned authorities, in addition to securing all the main axes and roads leading to them.
He added that the electoral centers and committees in the 13 governorates in which the second phase of the elections will be held will be sterilized and security combed about 48 hours before the start of the voting process, In addition, security directors, security leaders, and supervisory levels in the 13 governorates visited the forces participating in the insurance plan. To ensure its readiness to carry out the tasks entrusted to it with the utmost precision and discipline, and to stress the importance of commitment to good treatment of citizens during the implementation of the plan’s axes, and to take into account the human dimension, especially with the elderly and people with special needs, in implementation of the directives of Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of the Interior.
He continued: “Fixed and animated security statements will also be published; To monitor the security situation around the clock, and to deal quickly and effectively with everything that might disturb the electoral climate or negatively affect it, in addition to securing important and vital facilities, and deploying rapid intervention and deployment forces, supported by female police officers; To deal immediately with emergency situations, in addition to intensifying the security presence at metro and railway stations and parking lots to ensure that voters reach the committee headquarters easily and conveniently.”
The security source stressed that any attempt that would disturb public security and peace, or disrupt the democratic process, will be confronted with decisiveness and force.
The 2025 House of Representatives elections are scheduled to begin in the governorates of the second phase on November 24 and 25, 2025, with the result being announced and published in the newspaper. The official elections will be held after the completion of the electoral process, while the internal run-off elections will be held on December 17 and 18, 2025.
The second phase of the House of Representatives elections includes 13 governorates, in which candidates will compete under the individual system across 73 electoral districts, with a total of 1,316 candidates.
